About the Book
This book is an autobiography of the author, which summarizes a record of his journey. It is a personal story and reflection of a mission fueled by resilience, hope, and determination. It is a story about cross-cultural challenges, responsibility, and a strong work ethic, which the author brought with him from Ethiopia. The book is also about a strong desire for knowledge and a voyage to discover the unfamiliar.
About the Author
Zenebe is currently serving as executive director for Mennonite Central Committee Great Lakes Region. Prior to that, he worked for thirty years at four different college and university campuses as dean for student life, vice president for multicultural education, vice president for equity and inclusion, and as a professor of psychology for a total of thirty years. He graduated from Hesston College and Goshen College with a degree in psychology and later completed his master’s degree in mental health counseling from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. He earned his PhD in higher education administration from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. Zenebe is married to Barbara. Together they have two adult sons and two grandchildren. They currently reside in Indianapolis.
