About the Book

My great-great-grandfather Edmond Kelly is my hero of faith by his trials and achievements, from slavery to freedom for his people that he never had! Not for fame, not for eternal principles, not for himself, and not for gold or silver that fade away. Edmond Kelly’s son John H. Kelly (my great-grandfather) was the first born free from parents who were slaves. His life story were told to us also through the years, and most have been verified through his book “The Life and Work of Prof. J. H. Kelly” by Beatrice E. Gordon (Beatrice E. Gordon was a teacher under Prof. J. H. Kelly). My great-grandfather John H. Kelly is my hero, for his achievements and his life works to the education and advancement for his people that he shared and handed down for generations to come. Not for fame, not for eternal principles, not for himself, and not for gold or silver that fade away. John H. Kelly’s son John H. Kelly Jr.’s, my grandfather’s, life was cut short at an early age. I have no doubt his talent in music would have been successful. He was still able to impart our family’s heritage to my father. John Henry Kelly Jr.’s son, John Henry Kelly III (my father), is my hero for his great achievements in his successful businesses. Through the years, growing up with my father, I can say that he was a man without fear. Every dream he had, he made it a reality because of his great faith and trust in God.
