Beville, a clinician specializing in geriatrics and founder of Second Wind Dreams is a champion of eldercare. She travels the country making dreams come true and raising awareness about the needs of Alzheimer’s care. The characters and stories in Second Wind are based on actual events. Second Wind Dreams®, a nonprofit organization, makes dreams come true for elders in long term care and is the home of the award winning Virtual Dementia Tour®. Changing the perception of aging through dreams and innovative programming is what they are all about. About the Author
About the Authors Neil Shulman M.D., a.k.a. the “real” Doc Hollywood, is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. He’s often referred to as a “Renaissance Man.” He is the founder of the Global Health & Humanitarian Summit. He is the author of over 25 novels, children’s tales and consumer health books. He was co-producer of the movie “Doc Hollywood,” starring Michael J. Fox, which was based on one of his books. He has also written and/or produced for CBS, CNN and Disney. He was, at one time, a researcher in cardiovascular disease, receiving over 8 million dollars in grants and co-authoring over 50 scientific papers. Now he is traipsing around the world speaking on serious health issues and performing comedy for kids, general audiences and seniors. The spectrum of his performances range from events for Rosalyn Carter, the UN, Disney, programs for cancer patients, Alzheimer’s patients and kids with disabilities, to fundraisers with Jane Fonda and Miss America.
