Caterpillar Kindness

About the Book

Caterpillar Kindness is a children’s book about a tiny, colorful caterpillar who is born on a heart-shaped leaf. He cannot bring himself to eat the leaf and becomes its protector. As he eats the other leaves on the bush, he meets various insects who need his acts of kindness in various ways. Each time he engages in an act of kindness, the heart-shaped leaf grows larger and even changes color. Find out how he is rewarded for his kind deeds and words.

About the Author

I am currently employed as a Kindergarten assistant. I have worked in this capacity for the past 13 years. I love to work with the kiddos and be a part of their educational growth. They are just like little sponges soaking up knowledge. The classroom teacher and I love to enhance our curriculum by incorporating songs (which I am constantly making up) and kindness lessons into our daily activities. One day, while brainstorming ideas, I began thinking about writing a story involving a kind caterpillar. Before I knew it, I was typing up the book and drawing illustrations. On a personal note, I am married and have a son, a daughter and a cat. My hobbies include going for walks or hikes, cake decorating (which is quickly becoming a side business), baking and cooking in general, playing the piano, sewing, working on crafts, and spending time with my family. I am also very involved in our church.
