About the Author

Jake Teeters, the son of Jim and Bonnie Teeters, grew up in Chattaroy WV. His love and passion to always make kids laugh inspired him to work with children throughout his life. Jacob was blessed with two brothers and two sisters. Throughout his childhood Jacob was always the sibling that was pulling the jokes to make everyone laugh or even at times get everyone in trouble for laughing. He graduated from Burch High School and is currently employed as a plant operating engineer with Appalachian Regional Healthcare. Throughout his career he has chosen jobs that allow him the opportunity to see and make kids laugh. Jacob was employed with Mingo Co schools as a bus driver and he served in children's ministry for 16 years. The heart and soul of Jacob's passion for kids came on July 11.1996 when his now 17 year old daughter was born, Alissa Teeters. Through her he gets all of his inspiration. Jake’s vision is to see children pick up a book use their imagination to its fullest and to explore their minds, after all, the mind is like a garden!!! Jake lives in West Virginia where he continues to write stories. Adventures of Spaceman is the first of many books to come. Jake dedicates this book to his daughter Alissa, who not only inspires him but assist in the illustrations. To Stephanie Scott for all her hard work of typing and retyping the manuscript and mostly for believing in me. Lisa teeters for assisting with editing my work. To my best friend, Allen Parsley, for his encouragement. A great deal of thanks to my mom and dad for always being there for me. This book wouldn't be complete without mentioning my late grandfather, Pat Teeters, who made life so special and fun to live and was always a child at heart. To my friends at work Cristina Vaughan for her first drawing and Liz Burgett, Sharon Caudill and Karen Keesee for their wonderful ideas.
