About the Book

Chess Moves on Old News is titled as such to capture the dynamic of the knight (rook) in chess, as it jumps around on your beliefs on old views with a realistic view of modern thinking. With a version of the world and its all encompassing beauty as in ‘Field day’ and of a world sometimes harsh in its unfairness ‘Misused mankind’ also of life situations in our everyday happenings, the author hopes to deliver a poetic read that gives food for thought to readers who are able to see the strategic nuances that shape our thinking which leads to more interesting relationships and how we consciously, and at times unconsciously, handle them. The book starts with a poem that sets the scene with esoteric lines that offer a purview for the verses that follow, it is hoped you will enjoy reading these poems as much as the author enjoyed shaping them.

About the Author

Wayne Jasmin started writing poetry after his mother 'Lucy James' a published author; (Mystery Mountain) and a poet inspired him. After initially writing for his own pleasure, friends caught sight of some of his work and were interested in having parts of their lives put into verse; this was often with an edge that enabled them to see through their self imposed blindness of ongoing painful situations. Putting his mental health nurse training and nights of insomnia to literary use the author conveys thoughts altered by feelings of those who have battled with mental stresses or long nights of frustrating alertness in chapter two 'A little disturbance'. Over the years the author has benefitted from wide ranging friendships from varied backgrounds and used these experiences to shape his thinking in this, his first book. He is from Wolverhampton, England.
