The next day was Wednesday, the big day. The meeting was set for four o’clock in the early evening so that the children could attend after school let out for the day. Kate wondered if the men on the city council would listen to a little girl. But deep in her heart, she knew that she had to go and give it her best shot for the sake of the animals.

This story is about a brother and a sister who teamed up to save the wildlife in a vacant lot in their hometown. They, along with their peers, attend the city council meeting and at the risk of losing a new ball park, they do everything they can to save the animals.
