Staring down off of the balcony of my suite on Planet Haloline, I was deep in thought. Sighing, I thought to myself, when will the council decide to proceed with the mission on saving Aurora. For 7 years I have trained with masters of the Arts, and I have waited to take a hold of my destiny. I have put up with people telling me what I am, who I must be, and how I must proceed. I'm ready to tell them all that I make my own destiny. But over the years I have learned I must be patience. All good things will come to those who wait. But as I wait people back on Earth are suffering. Wars are breaking out. Humans are fighting each other. Nuclear war is imminent. While I sit here, Earth was destroying itself. Something must happen now, the galaxy was in turmoil. Every planet had the darkness on their planet, and they were suffering as well. But here the council on Haloline was still debating on how to proceed with the war. “Miss Auroral Lee?” asked one of the keepers of the building, interrupting my thoughts. “Yes” I asked, not bothering to turn around.
“You're being summoned to the council member's chamber”, she said bowing, and then leaving the room. Sighing I walked to the transporter and punched in code for the council members chambers. Stepping into the half circle tube, I pressed the button on the screen and I was instantly transported to the chamber. One thing about the Auroralites, they believed that energy shouldn't be wasted on unnecessary activities such as walking or fly around. That being said there was transporters everywhere in the city. The Auroralites believed in not wasting time. Walking to the chamber doors, I wondered what the excuse was this time, for them not to be ready to launch the attack. Last time it was because they didn't have all the ships ready. The time before that, I wasn't ready, and etc. Today I hope it was different. I opened the doors and there sat the council members, all 7 of them. “Auroral Lee, please come in”, said the leader of the council members. “I'm here at your request. Is the decision made? Do we prepare to leave for Aurora?” I asked.
“Auroral Lee it has been decided that we should still wait. We must not jump into this, without thinking on what must be done.”
Angrily I walked up to the high raise desks of the council members'. “The longer we wait the more lives we sacrifice. The darkness is spreading faster then we expected. If we don't act soon, it will be too late. Why do you wait to attack and take back what is ours? We are running out of time.” I said. The council members look at each other. “What is really going on?” I asked. The leader sighed, “We still don't think you and the others will succeed. The evil is too strong. If we attack, we only have one chance at this and, if you fail then we all die. We cannot fail at this.”
“I understand, but the longer we wait the stronger they become….”, I said but was cut off. “And so do you my child…….” the lead member started to say, but I cut him off. “NO!!!” I said.
“I am ready. I know all the techniques in fighting. I know how to protect myself. I have been ready. I am not without knowledge. You must trust me. I am the key, and I am here to protect the galaxy. It is time. We must gather now, or forever be lost.” I said. It was time, the galaxy needed me now. I can not wait any longer. Lives were counting on me.
They looked at me and started to whisper. The lead council member looked at me and said, “Soon child. Let us get the troops ready. In less than a year we will deploy.” He said this and started to rise, along with all the other members. I got mad. I never get mad. Getting mad was very dangerous. But today, mad was going to be my first name. “NO” I said very softly. The power behind that word made the room vibrate. The walls expanded. My skin glowed that bright gold and my tattoos were very visible on my skin. I started to float midway in the air. I felt the energy of my people everywhere flow through me. I was Auroral Lee, protector of the galaxy, and they needed me now. “We will leave with in the week” I said softly.
Every member turned and looked at me with wide eyes. I have never said no to them. I have never contradicted what they said. I have bowed to their wisdom. Today was not that day. “My people are in me. They scream for freedom. They are suffering in agony and despair. I hear them in my head everyday. Shouting for me. Wondering where I am at, and here I am waiting for you to decide when I am ready. No more. That is done with. We leave within the week.” I said. The lead member was going to say something. I waved my hand to silence him. “There is no negotiating this. No more talking. No more planning. You can plan so much, and those plans can still fail. We must attack before the Transoulites get any stronger. The time is now. Advise the ships captains on what I said.” With that I float down and walked out, still glowing gold. People all turn, froze and bowed when I walked by. Today I was ready to be Auroral Lee, the key to everyone's survival.
