John’s face showed a reflective nature as he spoke, “Hook probably heard of a place called Neverland, where people never grow old.” Silas said, remembering as his tone reflected a thoughtfulness, “Aye, I heard that story as well. If a traveler follows a northern star and bear off right of its course, there is a place where life is beautiful, treacherous, and full of great wonders. No one will ever grow old, but time takes away the memory. Troubles of the past are forgotten, and a lifetime and a half can be attained without ever knowing death.” Gwendolyn inquired in her concern, “Do you think that he followed that legendary tale of Neverland?” Jonathan took a breath and in a tone of admission said, “James was keen on finding a place where he never aged and never felt pain again. He feared death more than life. He was willing to find its secret and live a life free of its cold touch. His drive dominated his need to do anything to get there.” Michael, maintaining his angst, asked, “Why bother kidnapping young boys and keeping them?” Jonathan leaned forward and pointed at Michael to say, “You, little boy, have a lot to learn about the evils of mankind.”
