He was almost there when Benjamin Bee buzzed by him once again. "You might as well turn around, Uncle. She's not there. I guess we can try to see her tomorrow. Gotta get buzzzy, lots of work to do. See ya!" Oliver was disappointed, but decided to turn around and go home. After a while, he got tired and decided to take a short nap in the warm morning sun. He didn't think he had been asleep long when something woke him. He opened his eyes and couldn't see a thing. His spectacles must have fallen off while he was sleeping! Something was tickling his antennae, but he couldn't see it without his spectacles. He thought it might be dandelion fuzz, but where could so much be coming from? Suddenly, he heard some faint giggling. "Hey!" he shouted. "Who's there?" Still, the giggling continued. He didn't want to go too far without his spectacles, but he had to find out what all the giggling was about. He hopped once and the giggling got closer. He could make out an image, but couldn't tell who or what it was. He shouted again, "Hey, little bug, what are you doing?" About the Book
Oliver, an old grasshopper who has lived in the meadow all of his life, knows everyone and everyone knows him. One day, Oliver gets word that a new neighbor has moved into the sunflower patch at the end of the meadow. When he sets out to meet her, an unexpected event occurs that shows Oliver how strong and important the bonds of friendship can be.
About the Author
Blair Brown grew up in the Los Angeles area, and now lives a quiet life with her husband, outside of Washington D.C. She has three children and six grandchildren. This is the first children's book she has written, and with her vivid imagination is looking forward to writing more stories for her family and children everywhere to enjoy.
