As we do not know when our end will come and under what circumstance I will now focus on some sins, secret or otherwise, which some of us commit and which we have to make a serious effort to purpose in our hearts that we would not continue to commit or begin to commit any of these sins. Time will not permit me to comment on all the sins recorded in the bible, bus as we study God’s word we will be familiar with them so that we will not commit them. Hebrews 12:1 advises “Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” The Webster Dictionary defines beset as “to attack on all side. There is an enemy of our soul Satan, who seeks to have us disobey God, as he was able to get Adam and Eve to do. We must remember that we have been instructed “Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.” Deuteronomy 18:13. As we strive for perfection I will list a few of the things we are tempted to do or do, which put our spending eternity with our Lord at risk if our end came suddenly.
