About the Book

The aim of this book is to motivate and guide Ghanaian students in their quest to start their own businesses. It is a step-by-step guide of setting up a business starting from analysis of the business idea “knowing your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats”, knowing the kind of product to offer, setting pricing, promoting the business and its products. Also included are writing a business plan, registration procedure of the business and putting ideas into action as well as financial reporting. Finally, I have provided about 150 business opportunities.

About the Author

The author is a professional banker with sixteen years experience working with some of United Kingdom’s leading investment banks, including Barclays Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC, Close Property Finance, and others.

She holds a professional banking qualification (ACIB UK) and has recently completed her Master’s program in Banking and Finance.

Throughout her career, she has always dealt with small and medium-scale enterprises and large corporations in respect of business loans, and these entities have grown from strength to strength.

She also noted that these companies were started by individuals like you and me. If they can do it, why can’t we?

In addition to being a banker, she is also an entrepreneur, mentor, investor, author, and business coach for start-ups. She enjoys researching and will assist and advise anyone who needs business ideas or wants to take their ideas forward.

Mary Ayisi lives in the United Kingdom with her husband, and her three children.
