A dark shape almost rose from the water as it slammed into the side of the rowboat. K.C. cried out. Ramon saw the gaping jaws, the double-rows of teeth, the jaws closing on the boat. Shark! his mind registered automatically. It's climbing in the boat with us!
The old hull disintegrated without even a snapping noise, simply crumbled and mushed. The rowboat dipped, then flipped to the other side. K.C. and Ramon tumbled into the water. Ramon drew a breath before he submerged, hoping K.C. had done the same.
He saw her below him, swimming downward toward the bottom, and caught up with her to seize her ankle. At first she spun, panicked, until Ramon calmed her with his hands. Gripping her shoulders, their legs barely moving in tandem, he looked upward. Though the visibility was not good under water at night, it was less dark above them than below. Ramon pointed.
They saw the shape of the huge shark, its white underbelly, its tail swishing back and forth. It appeared to be intent on destroying the old rowboat.

About the Book
Ramon Sanchez and his girlfriend, K.C. Roth, find adventure and danger as they try to rescue K.C.'s friend from an overextended deep-water dive into a ship's graveyard. Legend has it that the sunken vessels are protected by a "ghost shark." Ramon and K.C. already had discovered a large shark in the area. A further danger is the fact that the diving companions are criminals seeking a treasure in illicit drugs in the same location. As they descend into dark, risk-laden waters, the kids face two imminent threats: the monster shark and two dangerous men who will use anyone and stop at nothing to achieve their goal.
