Abeke and her husband Soga wanted a child but this became an impossible dream when every child born to the couple died before the age of five. Heart broken and and resigned to fate and neighbours' insults, Abeke did not expect much of her last child Efuseewo. But Efuseewo lived and survived even after her parents died before she was fully adult

About the Author

Patience Oyenike Ogunbiyi taught history and social studies for 25 years before she became an administrator at the Local Government Education Authority where she worked for another ten years. Patience loved and had a very close relationship with her grandmother, whose early life provided the material for this story. Patience was born on September 15 1938 and died on October 3 2001. This book is published posthumously
