The current started to take me out toward the middle of the lake. I started to yell for help but a wave of water hit me in the face. I started to cough and sink under the water. I remember waving my arms and opening my mouth screaming or help but I realized I was underwater and started to gulp in water. I think I was crying and I could feel my chest burning. I started feeling week and kept sinking downward. I could see some plants, rocks and sand. I was at the bottom of the lake. The water at the bottom seems different. Everything around me seems to be getting darker and darker but I see a light in front of me. I stopped being scared but could still feel my chest burning. “David, David, I am here.” said a voice. I close my eyes I wonder if this is the way my life is suppose to end.

About the Book
This story provides a sense of hope through an imaginative story which has been inspired by some true life events. An adolescent is able to find the courage to be his own individual and deal with many problems and situations that most youth of today face on a daily basis.
About the Author
As a pediatrician, I work with the youth daily. I have served as a youth mentor, camp counselor, Sunday school teacher and Christian youth group leader. I want to share my imagination and personal life experiences to hopefully help inspire others. I am a lifelong resident of Illninois and have three wonderful children that love to read also. They inspire me everyday to live life to its fullest and share the gift of story telling with others.
