About the Author
Marilyn Hinton-Brown is a very dedicated and committed woman to God and loves church. With all the goals and tasks that are set before her, she perseveres and accomplishes to pursue to the end. Although adversities may interrupt her path, she goes through with grace and comes out on the other end with even more grace and strength and still stretches out her arm and hand to help those in need – the virtuous woman (Psalms 31). She is a very loving and extraordinarily passionate and compassionate woman for causes. She also loves children and senior citizens who are very dear to her heart. When asked, she supports friends and family. She works untiringly to bring the gifts and the talents to fruition. She does not take NO for an answer and will find a way to create a Yes. She is a fighter and will contend all the way to the end and will always find a solution to implement plan a, b and c. She is the type of woman that always occupies her intellect and never an idol moment occurs. She grew up in the central part of Maryland with five siblings in a strict Christian home. Her father was a fire and brimstone Church Of God In Christ pastor and her mother was an evangelist and home-maker. She is a very dedicated and loving mother to both of her children, Jasmine and Jarrell. Jarrell has been diagnosed with autism and she has ensured that both children were educated in the Christian private educational system. It has been a difficult journey dealing with his Autism, however, she ensured that he is always in a nurturing, educational and social environment supporting him in every area. She attended the Prince George’s Community College majoring in Criminal Justice and minored in Political Science and went on to matriculate to the University of Maryland pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Political Science. Her plan is to operate a 501©3 non-profit organization to serve homeless individuals to offer home-cooked meals and a clothing boutique. In addition, she serves as a coordinator for an underserved high school in the District of Columbia where she initiated the Adopt-A-School program that sponsors school uniforms to homeless and low-income students along with an educational SAT component to assist with college preparation and employment opportunities. She enjoys the holidays – of which she takes to heart and looks forward to home-cooking and decorating. She enjoys laughing and spending time with those whom she loves and treasures, and promotes education and giving back to those in need. What makes her smile? The scenes of waterfall and the falling of leaves.
