About the Author

Natalie Gonsalves was born and raised on which is considered the slumps of the city; Nelson Street, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, West Indies. As a child she experienced the hardships of poverty and human abuses but like a lily she was not influenced by her surroundings but saw light at the tunnel's end and pursued it with all vigor and determination. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Business Administration at University of the West Indies (Open Campus), a BSc. in Government and International Relations and is presently pursuing her MSc. in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad. Today, she is a self made educator and poet inspiring the lives of many and leaving a legacy for the underprivileged to follow.
