Great! I finally get a smidgen of approval from my peers, and it is all for a joke that I didn't even make. I mustered up the courage to say, "No, it's true. My twin brother is on that bus." At first, they were shocked to find out I was a twin, then the other half of the equation sank in. They just stared at me as if I were some kind of freak. As bad as it hurt, I still felt a jolt of pride in standing up for Mickey. I also realized that I would always have to stand up for him. About the Author
Melissa lives in a small town in Michigan with her husband of 20 years and three children. She grew up in Ohio in a large family that included two brothers who are affected by Fragile X Syndrome. They were the inspiration for this book.
