Wheels and Tines (bold, larger font) A spindly horse rake long given over to rust sits abandoned at the edge of this snow-stubbled field. With no rider on its seat, its darkened wheels and tines starkly silhouette themselves against the barren back of approaching night… So easy to imagine the constant rhythms of horse, rider with tines combing, separating. Wheels turning, dawn to dusk, down row upon row upon row yielding a finished fabric at day’s end. But now this field lies empty long after the energy of this place has plowed its way forward to a future already forming itself into another quiet past. Age speaks to me here. Loss remembers so many fields. Rust, for the moment shines gold.

Her poem "Wordscapes" was cited for Judge's Choice and her poem "Spring Song" for Editors' Choice in the Betty June Silconas Poetry Center Awards Anthology(N.J.-2007) Her poem "Wheels and Tines" was cited for Honorable Mention in Common Ground Review (Ct.-2010) She is a member of the American Academy of Poets and was a participant in the Robert frost Festival of Poets (2003-5} held at his farm in Franconia, New Hampshire.In addition to her writing, she has taught poetry courses at the TOALC Center at East Stroudsburg University and initiated memoir writing workshops there as well as at other locations in Pa. She lives with Philip, her husband of 41 years, in Lords Valley, Pa.
