Saint Paul native, Joe Francis, began his business career as a 12-year old year-old shoeshine boy in his Uncle Said’s shoe repair shop in West St. Paul, MN. Joe went on to become the Minnesota 1990 Entrepreneur of the Year, as well as the Inc. Magazine U.S. Entrepreneur of the Year, and the IFA Entrepreneur of the Year. This IFA Entrepreneur of the Year swept up anyone willing to join him as he engendered an extraordinary work ethic in others, and achieved his lifetime goal "to make poor men rich." He was inducted into the International Franchise Association Hall of Fame in 1999. Joe brought the western business world to Russia, after the fall of the Iron Curtain.
