Change was something that, as an active alcoholic, to which I was not very receptive. The thought of trying something new or going down an unknown path made me very uneasy. Why? I guess that I was at ease and comfortable to a certain extent being a drunk and I also feared rejection.
After I had lost job after job and was scrapping for enough change to pay my bills, reality would occasionally set in. I do not have a job so how can I pay my bills. I could afford my alcohol though. Bill collectors began calling me non-stop and threatening me. My heart would race every single time. All that I had to do was drink and they would go away. I would put my cell phone on silent and then drink myself into a stupor. My credit was perfect for years and I would always pay off my debts promptly. My drinking took me for broke however. My habit had put me into so much financial fear that it was almost unbearable. I had lost many things along the way. I had lost two apartments, jobs, girlfriends, credit, faith and trust of both family and friends. Eventually, I lost my mind.

About the Book
As an impressionable young teenager, he was first introduced to alcohol. This addiction led to the destruction of his hopes to graduate college as well as being a major league baseball prospect. This literature was written in hopes of helping others with this deadly disease. Being a successful recovering alcoholic, he elaborates on his near death experience. Hopefully this book will encourage others to never give up on the fight for sobriety.
About the Author
Life for me as an active alcoholic took an emotional toll on everyone around me. The struggle to achieve sobriety was the toughest battle I ever had to fight. My book will better describe the feelings of helplessness and heartache that was encountered along this devastating journey. The book will, also, provide support for both family members, as well as the addict. This account of my life was written to inspire the person dealing with the disease of addiction.
Having lived along the shores of the beautiful Chesapeake Bay for most of my life, fishing, boating, exercising, taking nature walks on the trails surrounding this huge body of water has proved beneficial to my sobriety and everyday life. Indulging in the infamous Maryland blue crab is one of the perks of living on this coastal watershed
