About the Book
On her wedding day, Caroline receives an unexpected gift. An uninvited guest delivers a deed to Heart Island, its gardens and castles. Rodger, Caroline's husband of less than one hour, depends on his police instincts and special training to protect his wife, as they change honeymoon destinations.
Following a tour guide through the castle, Caroline recognizes her own facial structures in a family photo. Under a greenhouse, in an earthen womb, a sundial is discovered. The orphanage Caroline was adopted from provided a locket, which she always wears near her heart. When the sundial reveals itself as a time-travel machine, built by her father, the locket is the key to changing the time and events. The terrorist Caszone, from THE WEAVERS, keeps his appointment arranged by FBI agents and hero-husband Rodger Calvert.
Terrorists will not allow rumors about the island to trouble them. Folklore and heirs will not stop their plans. Rodger Calvert depends on his investigative skills, and those of his team, to survive his honeymoon trip, learn how to travel through time, defeat terrorists, decipher the sundial's holograms and secret codes, and become a joint heir of a heart shaped island. Some sundials read, "Time began in a garden," but Caroline will discover love is timeless.
About the Author
Vickie Hodge Holt published character educational stories for children and adult fiction stories containing historical parallel adventures. At an early age, Vickie learned to think outside the box and outside the universe. Science fiction held her mind captive as she created the time-travel machine perfect for the twenty-first century and beyond. The Sundial finds no boundaries as Vickie weaves the adventure of a life-time, and then some. Holt wrote and hosted seventy-five Christian television shows. Using puppets, ventriloquism, choreographed dance, illusions, special guests, and object lessons from the Truth Trunk, Holt's writing became visual. The show was awarded three Silver Angel Awards from Excellence in Media in Hollywood, California. Naileena, an Easter story used on the show, was awarded an honorable ribbon and was later printed as a coloring book. Naileena, printed in English and Spanish, was gifted to children in the Dominican Republic and at a Franklin Graham Crusade with Bible Man. Since 2003, Holt has challenged hearts with articles in her local publication, "Holt's Heart for Kids." True magic is created in the Spartanburg, South Carolina household by only son Marcus, and husband Steve Holt. Together they share a magical family trait. They each are magicians, who prefer to be called illusionists. Using their learned trade, Steve is a full-time magician working in various venues such as stages, birthday parties, and using sleight-of-hand at restaurants. The words spoken while performing is referred to as 'speaking patter'. Vickie often contributes to writing patter for new performances. Steve and Vickie co-authored, "The Mobile Restaurant Magician", and "The Secrets of Ventriloquism." Steve illustrated "The Energized Family", a children's book also published by AuthorHouse.
