Chapter 1: The Anatomy of the EneME Who is It?? How many times have you heard what you refer to as the little voice in the back of your head whisper in your ear, “You can't do that”, “You're not worthy of this” or “What if you mess up when you try to…” and after that convince yourself that the lies are in some way true. Better yet, how many times have you talked yourself out of opportunities that have been presented to you by saying “Oh, I'm not smart enough to do that” or “I don't have enough money to accomplish that” or “ No one in my family ever succeeded doing this so let me stop fooling myself.” You officially zap yourself of a desire to fight by means of self-sabotage being your biggest critic and your own worst enemy!! You are now the person that decides you're inadequate which means you settle for mediocrity, possesses a narrow or no view of success and are hesitant with progress, the one killing your own will to progress into purpose --a practicing self-abuser. This is something I've not only seen in others but myself on more occasions than I care to mention. We've become immune to greatness figuring it's only a figment of our imagination. So much so that we no longer strive for success as a result of either fear of failure, some form of inadequacies, adopting a spirit of procrastination or merely narrowing our views to accommodate our narrow manners of thinking…if I strive for small things there's no way I can fail because the big is out of my reach (I'll get this job instead of opening my own business). This means we've omitted who God says we are which is that we're more than conquerors, we're royal priesthoods, we're the head and not the tails, the lenders not the borrowers, etc. and minimized our very existence. We've not only boxed ourselves in but we've boxed God in. That makes me ponder on the term enemy and what or who can be declared an enemy?? What is the make-up of this said enemy? Anybody that has taken any type of science class past elementary school, has taken some form of Biology course anatomy and knows that lots of dissection takes place regarding the anatomy. We study the anatomy of people, animals etc. to understand their structure, position or overall function----what makes them tick in other words. So what juices your enemy? What's their position or purpose in your life? But first we need to identify who the enemy actually is.

I personally would like to thank everyone that has purchased and read this book and hope that it has blessed your lives as this journey has blessed mine. If I can help somebody as I pass this way then my living will not be in vain. All too often, we go thru trials in life and some are so shameful we wish to forget them and never mention them. Sometimes we are convinced we are alone in a trial of this magnitude and that surely no one would ever understand this madness. If the devil can convince you of this he has won because his job is to isolate us so that depression takes over or rather as the word tells us to sift us as wheat, One thing I’ve learned in the last several years of my life that even though it’s my story, it’s for God’s glory. Situations that are shameful, hurtful, no matter what, there’s a lesson which in turn is a blessing. Quite often the trial or situation is not even about me, but God allowed me to endure it because he trusts me to share it with someone struggling in the same area and to reach back and pull someone else forward. The devil has often tried to convinced me that it’s my fault for my trials and something I’ve either done wrong or simply that God has turned his back on me and is ignoring me. I know for myself that the only thing God can’t do is lie and fail and in his word he says that he will NEVER leave me or forsake me so in that I know the trial is for another reason and not because God has bailed out on me. I’ve learned to apply I Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Be Blessed and Be a Blessing and remember to live a life of Purpose and on Purpose, It’s yours….Walk in it!!!

Conquering the EneME: BEING DELIVERED FROM SELF AND SELF-IMPOSED LIMITATIONS was written by Annette Jones-Ward, M.A. Annette has encountered several of life’s obstacles, from being the product of a single parent home to later in life being a divorced single mother of two (2). Annette is indeed the rose that grew from concrete. She’s a first generation college graduate having earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Southern University of New Orleans and a Masters Degree in Community Counseling from Xavier University of Louisiana. Today, she is a Professional Mental Health Counselor and Executive Director/CEO of a 501c3 non-profit organization, Assurance for Tomorrows’ Leaders (ATLs) Youth Foundation, Inc. and owner of Dart Consulting and Professional Services, LLC. both in New Orleans, La. She’s also a mother, wife, sister, friend, daughter, confidant, a motivational speaker, a competitor in the race of life and a Child of the Most High God.
