Greg Ubert Founder and President of Crimson Cup® Coffee & Tea Greg Ubert is the Founder and President of Crimson Cup® Coffee & Tea, a specialty coffee roaster and teacher of coffee shop business success. Based in Columbus, Ohio, Greg founded Crimson Cup® Coffee & Tea in 1991 on the principals of L.Y.F.E.® & L.O.V.E.® L.Y.F.E.® stands for Leave You Feeling Energized: Crimson Cup® strives to energize everyone through awesome products, customer service, and coffee expertise and training. L.O.V.E.® stands for Leave Others Very Energized: Crimson Cup® does this through positive interactions and by giving back to the community. In 2003, Greg published the book Seven Steps to Success, which documents his passion for teaching others and his proven business philosophy. In 2007, using the business philosophy outlined in Seven Steps to Success, Crimson Cup® opened its first company-owned coffee house in the Columbus community of Clintonville, Ohio. This coffee house serves as the company’s test store, allowing Crimson Cup® to sample new products and services before launching them nationwide. In 2009, Greg created a delicious frozen drink called “The Original” Hot Chocolate Freeze. Before being launched, this product was tested at Crimson Cup Coffee House and has since become one of the company’s top-selling products. He is a board member for the Cancer Support Community of Central Ohio, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people affected by cancer. He also serves on the advisory boards for The Ohio State University of Hospitality Management and the Initiative for Managing Services at The Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. Greg holds a B.A. in economics from Harvard University, where he was a linebacker for the Crimson football team and a pitcher on the university’s baseball team. He currently resides in Upper Arlington with his wife, Laura, and their three children: Caroline, Jack and Nick.
