How does one write about Spiritual Success and preserve any sense of humility? “Spiritual Success and How I Achieved It” has been the tongue in cheek working title of this book. It serves to remind me that I know so very little. The irreverence serves to caution against the arrogance of pretending to know anything at all. None of this book is actually new. As Robert Webber used to remind us, the ancient is the future.1 Those to whom I am indebted include a long line of teachers reaching back to the early church fathers. I have had several excellent mentors and many tremendous teachers and professors. They all have helped connect me to the rich heritage that we have in Jesus Christ.

About the Author: Arthur Jaggard is an ordained American Baptist Minister who has served as a denominational consultant to churches and pastors across the United States. He currently serves as the lead pastor to First Baptist Church of Anderson, Indiana. Arthur’s e-mail is artjaggard@yahoo.com. He is a Fellow in the Oxford Society of Scholars and recently completed a Merrill Fellowship at Harvard. He says he likes bright colors, old cars and time sitting in a tree. He is a devoted husband in love with his wife Deborra. He is unashamedly devoted to Jesus Christ and His Word. In the face of increasing societal pressures and catastrophes Arthur strives to live the passage in Isaiah chapter 60:1-3: Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD shines over you. Behold, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness will cover the peoples; but the LORD will shine upon you, and His glory will appear over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your radiance. As a popular speaker and author, Arthur enjoys sharing this message of hope and the vision path for living it out with everyone he can.
