"Yippee, shouts Max, flying off a branch, twirling and spinning. Max sings while twirling. "I like to fly," he does a twirl, "I love my Mom," he does another twirl, "I love my Dad,".... five more twirls in a row, "FOREVER, ever and everrrrr!" he sings extra loudly. As he rests, the old wise, majestic tree laughs and gently cuddles Max.

About the Book
How do you explain death to a young child? This simple metaphor engages the reader with little Max who despite special challenges is a very happy caterpillar. One day when little Max doesn't feel well his Mom wraps him in a blanket she calls his cocoon. When it is discovered that Max is gone everyone becomes sad. But Max is not really gone because Max the happy caterpillar has become Max the happy butterfly.
About the Author
"Max the Happy Caterpillar" was written after the death of a special little friend. Kathy Archibald Anderson is an artist, registered nurse, and mother of 4 children. Other interests include gardening, reading, enjoying sunny Colorado and learnng new things. She lives with her youngest daughter and husband in Erie, Colorado.
