It’s May, 2009; Sgt. Joseph Edward Wilson was on his second tour of duty in
“Please don’t talk like that!” Joe answered, his hands trembling.
“Tell my wife and children that I love them very much,” Sgt. Sweeney whispered. “Help them whenever you can.” With tears in his eyes and barely able to speak, he looked up at Joe. “Please tell Delores and my children that I love them!” Please!”
“I promise I will tell them.” Three minutes later Sgt. Sweeney was dead.
