When I Met a Soldier

When I met a soldier

It was the best time of my life

I had never dreamed that one day,

I’d be sitting as his wife

At first dating a soldier was such a lot of fun

I hadn’t really thought of the concept of him carrying a gun

When he first went away to Iraq

I was worried as anyone could be

I just counted down the days that

He’d be back home cuddling me

Afghanistan as well,

was a completely different league

I worried every second of the day,

 it was that bad it could cause fatigue

But once he stepped off that plane and was back in my country land
