In the zoo, I saw the national animal of Bhutan-Takin. The zoo is named after this animal itself. It is believed that long ago a magician named Madman was requested by his disciples to show a miracle. Therefore, he ordered that he be given a cow and a goat. Following his orders, the disciples did so. Then, Madman uttered some magical words and created an animal comprising the cow’s body and the goat’s head. Suddenly, the animal came into life and started grazing. The Bhutanese named this animal Takin, and considered it their national animal. I read this story on the brown board at the zoo. The Takin is not found anywhere else in the world but in Bhutan.
