About the Author

Hello, I’m happy to meet you. My name is Auntie Doreen. I wrote this story just for you. I hope you like it. I live in Canada. My home is in the Township of Oro-Medonte, in the Province of Ontario. Just like Katie Kool and her friends, I live near a beautiful lake. It is called Lake Simcoe. Perhaps you can find it on a map. We have lots of trees around our house. It’s almost like a forest, so we have many different animals visiting us. We have squirrels just like Squiggy Squirrel, and chipmunks just like Chit and Chat. The deer come to our back garden to enjoy the apples that fall from our trees. Of course, we have mice in the woodpile just like Milly and Merton mouse. There are lots of different birds enjoying the food at our bird feeders. They are all very pretty and I love listening to their songs. Do you like birds? I bet you can whistle a merry tune, just like the birds. Go ahead. Try it. It’s been nice chatting with you. I wish you, and your family, and your friends, a very happy, sunny day.
