—CHAPTER ONE—
A Magical Start
It was four o’clock by the time Fionix got back home from school.
“I’m back from school, Mother,” Fionix was so tired that she dragged herself to the kitchen. “We had to do loads of tests at school today.”
“Honey, why don’t you go and have a rest?” said Fionix’s mum kindly.
Fionix just yawned and then went upstairs to have a nap with Sparkle lying across her. Then, a few hours later, she heard a whisper outside her window. She opened the curtains. It was phenomenal! Flying in the air was a group of beautiful-looking fairies dressed in silky, pretty shirts with lovely dresses to go with it.
Fionix gave a gasp of surprise!
Suddenly, a green dressed fairy turned around and looked at her. Fionix was frightened! She jumped into her cupboard to hide.
“What’s your name?” said the fairy calmly.
“My name is Fionix, w-w-what’s your name?” Fionix was confused.
“I’m called Fairy Enchantopia,” the fairy replied with a smile.
“What are you doing here?” asked Fionix. “Why are you dressed like that?”
“I’m here for a lost fairy!” replied Fairy Enchantopia.
“I’ve only got a dog, not a fairy!” said Fionix, surprisingly.
“Well, that’s who we’re here for,” another fairy said, getting tired of the conversation.
Fionix opened the window and the green dressed fairy flew in.
“Look, it all started one night when we were fighting against a witch,” Fairy Enchantopia told a story, “the witch won the battle and turned a fairy into a dog and sent it to the place nearby your house.”
“That explains how I found Sparkle!” astonished Fionix.
Fairy Enchantopia got out her wand from her tiny pocket and went over to Sparkle, who was still sleeping. She tried to reverse the spell, but it was too strong to handle!
“She’s going to have to be a dog for the rest of her life!” said the fairy crying.
“It’s alright. I’ll take good care of her,” said Fionix softly.
Fairy Enchantopia then gave Fionix a small bag of fairy dust.
“Rub some onto your hands, and come with us,” she said smiling. “Trust me!”
Fionix was still a bit confused but she did what the miniature fairy said.
“Where are we going?” asked Fionix quietly.
“To Fairyland!” replied the fairies.
“See you later, Sparkle,” Fionix whispered as she gently stroked the dog’s soft fur.
“Let’s go, everyone!” commanded Fairy Enchantopia. The fairy grabbed Fionix’s hand.
“Fly!” Fairy Enchantopia said to Fionix.
“Fly?” surprised Fionix.
At that very moment Fionix floated up and really did start to fly!
They flew up to the rainbow coloured mountain ahead of them.
Fionix looked up. “What’s that?” she asked.
Above there was a colossal portal sucking the fairies into it. Fionix tried to fly away but before she could escape, she was sucked in as well!
“Hang on!” one of the fairies said in a high pitched voice. “No worry, this portal goes to Fairyland!”
“Okay, but if anything bad happens to me then it’s your fault,” said Fionix firmly.
