Her last day of living in the clan started out like any other day. She went out with the hunters like normal, but circled back to the nest. She met a younger clanmate and told her to get Brr’Kip to meet her in the trees. Krr’Tip climbed into a tree, waiting for Brr’Kip. She did not have too long to wait, for she could feel Brr’Kip’s energy entering the tree line. She knew that Brr’Kip did not like the trees and her energy was nervous.
“Krr’Tip?” Brr’Kip vibrated nervously. “Where are you?”
“Right here,” she vibrated back as she dropped down on top of Brr’Kip, pinning her down with her weight.
“What are you doing?” Brr’Kip vibrated, struggling to get away from her.
“You took my leg, so I am going to take your life, Brr’Kip! You disrespected me in the nest and made me look like a fool. Nobody does that to me, so prepare to die!”
“NO! Please do not do this! The queen will kill you for this! I am sorry, Krr’Tip,” Brr’Kip vibrated.
“Yes, beg for your life, just like a multi-leg does before I sink my fangs into its body.” She felt satisfaction at how scared Brr’Kip was.
“Feel my fangs slowly penetrate your body, as I take pleasure in killing you. I do not care if the queen kills me, for I will have the pleasure of your death. Think of that, Brr’Kip,” sinking the tips of her fangs into Brr’Kip’s body. She could feel Brr’Kip’s energy flare up, and gloried in the feeling as she sunk her fangs deeper into Brr’Kip’s body. She injected her venom into her and started to feed on her as her struggles ceased.
“How does that feel, Brr’Kip? This is what happens to anyone who crosses me,” Krr’Tip vibrated as she fed on her clanmate. She could feel Brr’Kip’s energy dwindling as her life was being drained and felt her own energy getting stronger.
When she was done feeding, Krr’Tip left the remains of Brr’Kip and went back to the nest, feeling stronger and more alive. She could not think of anything but the feelings of her fangs sinking into Brr’Kip’s soft body. Her nerves were singing with energy and she was acutely aware of her surroundings. She vibrated softly as she entered the nest and was taken by surprise when four hunters converged on her.
“Come with us,” one of them gruffly vibrated to her as they surrounded her. “The Queen wants to see you.”

About the Book
Krr'Tip - A young, intelligent eight foot arachnid is considered an outcast by all the arachnid clans. Exiled from her clan three years previous, she comes across a strange creature only possessing two legs. This creature has been injured, and she doesn't know how to relate to something so vastly different from herself. During her adventures, she learns what this creature is, how to relate to it, and eventually - befriends it.
Bruce Adams - Human captain in the Explorer Corps. Stranded. Alone. Injured. Captain Adams finds himself on a planet of "over-sized" arachnids and insects. With no means to know if they are intelligent, he must figure out how to communicate with the native species. Captain Adams finds himself literally falling at the feet of Krr'Tip, an exiled spider.
Trell - An overly aggressive reptile measuring over eight feet from nose to tail. The description closest matching what Trell looks like would be a cross between the velociraptor and the tyrannosaurus of Earth. The reptiles hate any race that tries to stop them from conquering the universe, becoming the dominant species.
Frell - A young, inquisitive wasp that lets her curiosity get the better of her, ends up being a gift to Bruce from Krr'Tip. She becomes one of his most loyal friends. She finds that her enemy can be her friend in the form of Krr'Tip and wants to explore the stars with both of them.
During the war with the reptiles, Bruce becomes stranded on a planet with oversized insects and has to learn to work with them for the very survival of the human race and everyone else the reptiles want to conquer....
