About the Book
This book, although firmly embedded in the fantasy fiction genre, is more about a man’s struggle to come to terms with the enforced changes in his life. It takes you, via the hero, Fadrian, on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and adventure. The world of Galleth Major is in turmoil, more turmoil than anyone could know and is in desperate need of a hero. The trouble is Fadrian doesn’t know it.
In this, the first book of the Legend of Endeavor trilogy, the troubles of the known world are only just becoming apparent. Fadrian thoughts are elsewhere though as he tries to find his only surviving kin, his son Dratan. His search alone is a quest of epic proportions, without the problems of the outside world that are laying in ambush for him.
About the Author
After losing several very close people to him, especially his daughter and wife to serious illness: John needed an outlet for his feelings and what better way to do this, than to write a novel. Although this book is totally fictitious it does have auto biographical elements that mirror some of the author’s real life. This means the emotions that run through the book have been felt, first hand, by him.
John came late to writing and started with poetry and lyrics, mostly written during long waits in hospitals and doctors waiting areas. It not only helped pass the time but writing became a form of stress relief.
The idea of this book, and the subsequent series, came about when John gave up paid work to become full time carer to his wife, Elaine. Creating a whole fantasy world, I'm sure, helped him to escape from the pressures of day to day life a little.
The first book now completed and the rest of the trilogy well under way, John starts to paint a very vivid picture of the world that he has created.
