...from beginning to end, it does sorta tell a story-from the start of my experiences with psychedelics, to full blown IV addiction, to where I’m at now... along with a few rather rough transitions. All in all, about twelve years in the making! You could say my whole life has been an experiment, and these are some of the written results. In verse.
Not all of the writing is about drugs, but I’d say about 80-90% of the content was written under the influence of something or another. For proper reflections of the effects of different drugs on the creative mind, I’ve broken it down into chapters: Hallucinogenic, Narcotic, Tweek, and “Other".

The dew covered blossom,
when refreshed,
is forever grateful...
Embracing the dawn of something fateful.
The darkest depths of beauty...
So myserious and new to me.
Oh wait. I almost forgot.
This is where I lost my purity...
Even though I never had a lot....
Is this happening?
It's sparkling real.
This is how I always want to feel.

My Demons, I See Crystal Clear...
But Clouded Are My Reasons
As white as a flower,
and cold as stone...
I patiently await The Witching Hour,
when there's no one in sight,
but I'm not alone...
My elation arrives by way of sedation,
removing hints of trepidation...
I'm shaking,
as if for the first time waking,
I realize the toll that this is taking.
Gruelling days, and endless nights,
sleep that's fitful and nightmarish...
My torture is of my own design,
something I will always cherish.

My head is a pumpkin...
So I put it on a platter.
Oddly enough,
One eye is open...
Not that it would matter.
I’m filled with flames,
Instead of laughter.
The zombies got the brains they’re after...
The insane has now become the master.
From "Other: This and That Since Then"-
Blood and ashes,
deep red gashes...
Wondering where my perfect match is.
Passing out and waking up,
my eyes are practically swollen shut.
Every inch of flesh I cut...
It's my body, my story, my scars... so what?
I don't speak much of the pain within... You can see it written on my skin.
My body tells the story of the hurt love brings...
Then why is it one of my favorite things?
"'Tis love, 'tis love, that makes the world go 'round..."
'Tis love that puts you in the ground.

Fans of poetry should read this regardless of how you feel about drugs... ...And anybody who's ever been curious about, or involved with drugs, in any way, you should read this regardless of how you feel about poetry. "Gargoyle" Never mind the broken wing, this is one of my favorite things. To still have him, you can't imagine how much joy it brings. He has a name... And we used to play a little game. He's shared my joy, and shared my pain... A drop of blood each time I broke a vein. It started with the eyes, and before I even realized, the blood began to fall like rain.
About the Author
Last time we checked, the author was living in Sunny Colorado, quite contentedly, it would seem... which is amazing, when you consider he has been on almost as many ambulance trips as roller coaster rides, has shot drugs into veins that don't belong in veins... ...Been beaten-up, left for dead, overdosed, nearly died from withdrawal... Been homeless, thrown in detox, jail, and at one point, a mental ward (where he was deemed “stable, of above average intelligence, but very eccentric"). He's been in car accidents that could've been a lot worse, and been in more than one bed when it caught fire. He even drank glass cleaner out of a coffee pot at a gas station, once... Because it was blue. And it looked cool...
