Through the Walls Rock by rock, Stone by stone, We build our walls with great care, We build and we hone. We lay our cornerstone. And spread the mortar. We block everyone out, And trap ourselves in. Broken stones yet untouched. The solitary spirit, Of the hermit within, Seeking in blind silence, Our willful stubborn souls, Crying out in these walls, Shouting, kicking at the stones, We thought we placed, So neatly there, without care. Do you hear? Does anyone hear? Let those who have ears to hear listen! Only you, within our walls so thick, Only you can break through, You come through every brick, Every stone proclaims your glory. About the Book
This collection of poems is gathered from all the deep valleys and dark jungles as well as the towering mountain peaks of my journey; they show a very wide range of emotions and cover many different topics. It is my deepest hope that the words I’ve written may strike deep within those who read them and help to build them up in faith and love for God and for one another.
About the Author
My personal spiritual formation, like so many, has been a long and twisting road wandering through many valleys, dark jungles and reaching up to many high mountaintops. I have journeyed through homelessness, hunger, and several other challenges to find my way with God’s help, even when I thought I didn’t need it. It is amazing how God hangs on to us even when we try to pull away.
