MANIFESTO –“Ali Deh Nesehbeh” THE BRIEF AMY JOHNSON Amy Johnson’s book Manifesto: “Ali Deh Nesehbeh” The Brief, is a Middle East Aviation terrorism case, regarding an American Airlines crash off the capital of Scotland - Edinburgh. The Airline crash sends shockwaves throughout the international community and triggers immense concerns about international law breaches in aviation security. The book is set in the era post 9/11, and is an exposition of the most important and crucial issues surrounding national security and the threat faced by pilots/aviators and passengers by the increased potential of aviation terrorism. Kate Hamilton is a brilliant and incisive lawyer, who is chosen to assist the most successful Advocate Depute Mr Peter Hammond, a man known to dominate the courts with his formidable intelligence and precision analysis of legal points of law. Kate can hardly believe that she is chosen to assist on the most high profile case in Scottish legal History and that of international law; when the Torquair Bombing an American Airlines 747 jet; a disaster of gigantic proportions that occurs just near InnerLeithien; and just outside Edinburgh Scotland; caused by a terrorist group from the Middle East. The Iraq War is raging and the world post 9/11 is on high security alert. The Bombing causes consternation around the world, and questions are raised as to how a breach in airline security of this proportion was allowed to occur yet again. A security breach causes the key witness for the prosecution Hussein Abdullah, to be intimidated and the case is severely compromised. Kate finds herself in a curious position of being removed from the case and her office; but her involvement in the breach is concluded to be minimal. The Accused bomber an intelligence officer from Iran awaits his trial in a high Security prison with scepticism and despair and quotes himself as being in the wrong place at the wrong time, with evidence against him being circumstantial and circumspect. The Iraq and Afghanistan Wars are raging and Foreign Secretary Alisdair Straw with residences in Scotland and his work at Westminster, finds his marriage floundering and seeks legal counsel. He suddenly finds himself pulled into the international intrigue when his son Jack is kidnapped by terrorists demanding a huge ransom and the release of Ali Deh Nesehbeh from the Scottish high security prisons where he has been held without bail and indefinitely. Michael MacFarland a high ranking Scottish Executive Officer along with Miss Hamilton and the intelligence agencies, CIA, Scotland Yard and the FBI are propelled into action to salvage a horrendous international situation. The witness for the prosecution Hussein Abdullah comes back into the fray and the case is to commence and the bright young expositionist and lawyer Mark Harrison visits Ali Deh Nesehbeh in his cell amidst national and international chaos caused by the kidnapping, to prepare his erudite Iranian terrorism case client for the final trial to commence in the highest and supreme courts of Scotland in Edinburgh and this time with heightened and tough security to prevent any further breaches to stall the progress of the case. Amy Johnson’s book creates a brilliant observation of international intrigue, extreme threats to national security and puts the focus on the dilemmas of post 9/11 terrorism protocols globally and in particular from Iran; which strives to be a nuclear force amidst growing international sanctions and opposition to it developing nuclear capability; whilst Iran remains under the Islamic and religious Rule of Law.

About the Author

The Author was born in Kashmir, India and her Father served as an officer with the 8th Gurkha Rifles. The Author's paternal uncle was a great influence in her life and served as a Naval Attache under President Eisenhower and a Naval Diplomat in Russia. She married a Forces Officer and Pilot with whom she travelled to many places in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. She primarily trained as a geneticist conducting research in cancer genetics collaborating with scientists at the NIH, Bethesda. After obtaining her Doctorate, she taught and researched extensively in Cancer and Molecular sciences. She later completed her Masters in Intellectual Property law and trained to become a solicitor with a highly reputable British Firm. She was greatly inspired by her Law Lecturers who imparted legal education by the excellent socratic method. The Author has two sons, the older a Forces Officer and Pilot like his Father and married to a Commercial pilot and the younger is at University, hoping to follow in the well established family tradition; but engages an additional passion for formula one racing.
