When they reached the bottom of the cave they saw a giant blue turtle resting in the water. “Hello,” the turtle said, “My name is Mr. Snortles.”
“Hello,” Bernie and Bantu replied. “Do you know how to get to the floating flamingos? We are headed to Moo Moo Mountain to find the magical dust hidden under the big blue rock.”
“Yes I do,” Mr. Snortles replied. “Push that red button and climb up the ladder. I will take you to the floating flamingoes. Make sure you cover your toes or I might tickle them! I love to tickle children’s toes.”
“Cover your toes, cover your toes!” Bantu yelled. Mr. Snortles started swimming down the river.
“This is fun!” Bernie said. “I like riding on Mr. Snortles. He’s so fast.”

About the Book
Bernie and Bantu are best friends. They live in Africa. One day, they found a penny, which they believe is magical. Together they go on a exciting adventure, meeting new friends along the way. They find a map, and begin searching for the magical dust hidden under a big blue rock at the bottom of Moo Moo Mountain. Bernie and Bantu learn the importance of friendship, perserverence and to believe in the impossible.
About the Author
Bernice was born in Cape Town, South Africa. She immigrated to the United States of America in 2001. Bernice became a US citizen in 2010. She now resides in Phoenix, Arizona.
Growing up witnessing the fall of apartheid, was a very positive learning experience.
Through her travels to different countries, she has experienced her own adventures, and overcome obstacles along the way.
Bernice owns a sports coaching program that teaches children sports and life skills, between the ages of two and seven years old.
Teaching children, has introduced her to the wonderful world of a child's imagination. She believes in the importance of expanding a child's imagination and creativity.
