Long before the time of Christ someone regarded as the savior of mankind walked the earth. This man became known throughout the ancient world. His remarkable feats were legendary. But he was cut off in the prime of his life, willingly giving himself as a sacrifice for mankind. After his tragic death he was said to have ascended up to heaven where he interceded for prayerful humans. A saintly woman was important in this savior's life, and his close followers suffered persecution.
This person's name appears in the Bible, but not much is said about him. Today, some people think of him as a false Messiah. Others, the majority, hardly think of him at all. Here are some of the discoveries that reveal the existence of a religion with features similar to mainstream Christianity long before Christ. As mentioned, this religion sprang up just a few generations after the Noachian flood.
Like modern Christianity, this long-ago religion focused upon a saintly mother, a divine child, and a savior who was brutally put to death, rose again, and ascended to heaven. Thus a trinity existed shortly after the flood, and the idea of one God in three forms spread throughout the inhabited earth. But this trinity was quite different from the one Christians think of today. This early trinity consisted of an Eternal Father, the Spirit of God in a flesh-and-blood mother, and a Divine Son born of that Spirit.
A special priesthood controlled and administered the rites of this religion, and it had elements of secrecy and mystery. People who participated in this religion feared persecution just as the early Christians did.
Other features of this ancient religion included a forty-day period of fasting early in the year, a great spring festival celebrated with colorfully decorated eggs and hot cross buns, and a joyful celebration commemorating the resurrection of the dead savior.
Another great festival occurred on December 25th and lasted for five delirious days of feasting, heavy drinking and wanton revelry. On the eve of December 25th a Yule log was put into the fire. Yule, in the ancient Chaldean language, means “infant” or “little child.” The following day, December 25th, a fir tree appeared, bringing divine gifts for everyone.

About the Author
J.P. Waitz is a decorated World War II veteran of the United States Air Force. Trained as a B-25 Navigator-Bombardier, he saw action as lead bombardier on 72 combat missions over Japanese-occupied Burma. He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant, and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and two Air Medals for his service. After World War II, the 24-year-old Waitz decided on a writing career. Eager to begin writing, he skipped college and began writing short stories. When they failed to sell he got into advertising as a copywriter. During a forty-year career in advertising he worked for ten advertising agencies and several corporations. He wrote advertising for many well-known U.S. products, including Heinz 57 varieties , Plymouth, Dodge and Chrysler cars and other national brands. He retired as Advertising Manager for First Alert Smoke Detectors in l99l. At age 70 he began writing books, choosing religious themes because of a deep interest in the Holy Bible and the hidden truths it contains.
