Where does religion fit into the picture of a world in which change and uncertainty are not only recognized as the normal, natural order of things; but as a result of this awareness, status quo thinking is becoming increasingly discredited? The answer to this question is that we simply know more than our ancestors. Probably the most significant result of our knowing more is that religion is being required to give up its historical legacy of intolerance and exclusivity. Intolerance is directly related to ignorance, and the less ignorant we become the more tolerant we become, religion being no exception.

About the Book
This book is about the major changes taking place as the world begins to make the transition from the Modern to the Postmodern Era, especially those changes that are already affecting Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The author takes the reader through an account of how certain beliefs are formed -- including beliefs in magic, superstition, myth, legend, and morality. This is followed by a discussion of the world's present state of affairs and projections for the future. Finally, the reader is presented with the challenges that will most likely face each religion as this new world unfolds.
About the Author
Educated in the social sciences, Bob's wide-ranging career has primarily included the following: Military Service (Navy and Army); Teaching (Public Schools and University); and Non-Profit Management (Abused Children and Minority Employment). He has also been a consultant, preacher, carpenter, farmer, transmission inspector, social worker, waiter, cook, dishwasher, bartender, steel worker, dispatcher, janitor, and salesman. Bob has traveled extensively and has lived in Europe and the Far East. He has three sons and currently lives in Portland, Oregon.
