Marie Bilney (left) and Christina Clark have been friends 1or many, many years. Along with husbands, each raised three daughters. They now enjoy time spent with their daughters, sons—in law, grand children and great grandchildren.

Our interest in the history of “This 01’ House” was due to the fact that Harold Clark (Christina’s husband) inherited the house from his aunt Helen in 1985. This interest soon led us to investigate further avenues.
Although Harold and Christina never lived in the house, it was used as a vacation home. In recent years, however, Marie and her husband did live in the Clark home for a year or so, during which time Christina spent a great deal of time with Marie as their interest peaked regarding the history of the Hamlet of Cragsmoor, New York, its artist colony and much more.
Our research was quite exciting, in that our efforts unveiled facts that were unknown to us as well as many others. Of particular enjoyment was speaking with current residents of Cragsmoor, making visits to the local libraries and of course, makingour many trips to
