Chapter Five
Home and relaxed
Leo gets out of the airport and waits for the shuttle to take him to his car. The whole flight back he couldn't get Luciana out of his mind. She ended up staying with him the whole time. It gave him someone to talk to, someone to sleep with, someone to just spend time with. They promised that soon they'd meet again. He was amazed at her candor, her honesty towards the whole situation. He offered to pay her for her time but she flatly refused. She told him that it was well worth it to spend time with a real man. Leo was happy he met her, he would not forget her and for sure they'd speak often. He drove home slowly, relaxing as he listened to the soft jazz on the radio. On his mind was the kid he spoke to before he left. He thought hard about the sound in his voice, the hints thrown back in forth during the conversation. The kid was a Green Beret, a trained killer. He remembered one of his partners telling him about his son that was a Green Beret and how they taught them how to kill fifty ways with their teeth. He never forgot that line. If it was true this kid would tear that asshole that killed his wife apart. Leo vowed to help that kid if it was his wish. What man wouldn't want a piece of the bastard that killed and abused the one he loved. He also had to call Danny Marconi, his gruff old partner and see what was up there. He was hell bent on getting a private eye or security company up and running. Between the two of them for sure they'd figure something out. It was a quiet evening. Leo sat on his porch watching the neighborhood kids drinking a glass of merlot. He was wearing his glasses just fumbling through his mail and old news papers when something caught his eye. He stopped getting the local paper awhile ago because it bothered him so much when he saw such morbid things close to home. Plus he had way too much time on his hands to let it lay. If he had an idea who it was, he was going to do something about it. He just didn't need the trouble. There was a story in the paper, probably delivered by mistake, about a suspect in a recent Buffalo killing. As he read on he was both excited and surprised at what he read. This Hispanic guy was the guy that may have killed Jessie Roberts. He read on that an anonymous source had given his name to police as possibly committing that crime. Leo went in the house and put the paper article on his desk. He planned to fish around some of his old haunts to see what is what. Hopefully without too much trouble he would be able to get enough to turn it over to the kid for revenge. He would love nothing better than to settle this matter once and for all. But first thing first, he called Danny to set up dinner. “Danny, what's shakin pal? I just got back.” Danny sounding relaxed. “Hey Piasan, welcome back. How'd ya do?” Leo couldn't wait to brag. “Brother, you had to see what I landed, I mean I won some, lost some the three days cost me about seven hundo. But man, I met a broad, knock your socks off, jeese.” Danny perks up. “No shit, nice ha?” Leo jumps in, “Nice….. Shit, this kid is a ten. I thought maybe she was a hooker ya know, turns out she was in on business and we just made it a mini vacation. Minchia could she go. We was together the whole time, I had a fucken blast.” Danny wanting more. “Are you kiddin me? Ya right and she wasn't a hooker? What`d she want with an old prick like you?” Leo laughs, “Ow, I got your old prick right here.” Grabbing his balls through his pants as he directs it towards his friend. “No, really she was cool as hell. Maybe she'll come up sometime, you'll see.” Danny laughs. “Hahaha, ya come on. That broad got a free vacation out a ya, hahaha.” Leo comments, “Ya maybe, but I had a doll for three nights bro. That's good enough for me. Hey I wanted to get together wit ya maybe this weekend.” Danny listens, “……. Oh ya, ya Lee. I got some shit we should think about, you know me and you getting to something together.” Leo nods, “Ya ok kid, I gotcha…… Mmm, I'll call you on Friday ok. Well maybe go up to Fort Erie for some horses or something.” Danny replies, “Ya ok Lee, excellent. Talk to ya then.” Leo hangs up the phone and looks again at the news article. He wanted so bad to call the Roberts kid but had to wait until he had something solid. He knew that no news is good news. If it turned out to be false information that could be trouble, plus he wanted to check the kid out a little further anyways.

About the Book
To have a story published is a joy beyond comprehension. This is my second book. To have someone read it, like it and ask for more is a blessing beyond my wildest dreams. I think with this story I have solidified a style for what I write. My dream is to have a story made into a film. With each story, I also adapt it to a motion picture script because in my mind it's playing that way as I write it. I am determined to make it happen someday, God willing. For now…. Enjoy this story and realize I write because I love life and feel that no one should be violated from the cowards that lay in the shadows. The weak, meek and young should be protected at all costs. My stories are fiction but my beliefs are real. Leo Greco (the main character) was not going away upon his retirement from his police job, he was just moving to another branch of law enforcement. Only this time God was his boss. One of the commandments is, “Thou shall not kill”, to Leo Greco that didn't mean much. To him, an eye for an eye was a better fit. If you dare to rape, abuse, kill, rob, threaten, beat or drug a weaker person. If you got out of jail and did it again. If you laughed at the laws you abused because you know you'd be able to commit crimes again. Chances are you'd meet your destiny. Chances are you'd see why you were about to die. The HIT SQUAD always gave you a reason before you were killed. No person was to be hit without knowing why he was about to die. That rule was instilled by Mr. Leo Greco. That rule was followed by all.
About the Author
The author, Joe Biondo has a definite passion to the streets he writes about. His first book, "RETRIBUTION - Dead Men Tell No Lies”, I would say was a great success. The story had family, love, passion and direction to make you not want to put it down. "HIT SQUAD - VENGEANCE”, does the same. I was actually hoping his second book was a continuation of the first as it made you want more with its open ending. The new story blends the passion and streets perfectly. He again has nailed the action to almost film quality with his explanation and description of the situations in which he writes. I loved the first book and now am hooked on this author. I look forward to more works from him and as one person said in a book review on his works, “He nailed it.” We all know how hard it is to write a story let alone a book. To keep you hooked and keep you thinking of it until the next time you pick it up is a gift. This guy by far is not a literary genius but he is a story teller. A good storyteller who can organize his stories and get them down on paper. I have read many books of this nature. He fills his pages with meaningful words not filler to prolong the story. He ends his stories so that if he wants to, he can continue it at a later date. In my eyes, this is an author to watch. Any book that keeps you thinking when you complete it deserves kudos. I give this author mine.
