It was a dismal morning, dark and dreary, in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The wind was full of swirling debris. The pallbearers solemnly carried the casket to the gravesite followed by a huge procession led by Tom Durning's widow, Jessica, and their four-year-old son, Josh. The priest opened his prayer book, look up at the sky, and proceeded to read from the Holy Scripture. Jessie wept as she clutched her four-year-old son against her. She placed a rose on the casket, leaned forward and kissed it.

About the Book
This story is about the trials and tribulations of Jessica Durning, starting with her husband's death in a one car crash. The death left a young widow with a four-year-old child and a huge debt fell on Jessica's shoulders.
She supported herself and her son working as a diner waitress. She suffered agony for days and weeks observing her son fight for his life from an automobile accident.
Jessica sustained through all her turmoil with the support of her neighbors and friends, Lori and Max Gordon, her boss, George Combs. Jessica started breast cancer radiation treatments while engaged to Rocco Manginni, the diner's chef.
About the Author
Peter J. Falotico is a retired Federal Government employee. In his retirement he has written fictional novels, televison specials. He is a graduate of the Philadelphia public school system.
