About the Author

Deena Prestegard: Artist, Author, Entrepreneur

Deena has been writing and illustrating children’s stories most of her life. Her stories delight and ignite the imagination of children of all ages.  They encourage kids to be themselves, make the best of their situation and realize that joy comes from within.

Mz. Deena’s background is in business.  For the last 16 years she has been the Chief Imaginator of Sirge Creative Alliance, a marketing and design firm.  Deena has worked with a variety of companies from Fortune 500 to Start-ups, from High Tech to Non-Profit and has received international acclaim for her originality.  Most notably was the Killington Ski Gondola project which CNN voted “Unique in the World”, The Whitney Museum hosted its unveiling and MTV aired extensive coverage of its debut.  A sample of this work hangs in her studio.

Prior to Sirge, she owned and operated four award-winning restaurants in the Boston area.  Her company grew from her kitchen to over 300 employees and 12 million in revenues before she sold her interests.  Deena received her business degree from Simmons College.

Deena, her husband Patrick and their dog Toby live on Munjoy Hill in Portland, Maine. She has two wonderful daughters; Jamie in Boston and Julia in NYC.
