About the Book
Enticed by inexpensive land in Colorado, Norwegian settlers came to northern Lincoln County, Colorado in the early 1900s. After attending church services hosted by circuit riders for several years, they formed their own congregation and called it Walks Camp Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Congregation. "Closed with the Lord's Prayer" chronicles Walks Camp's beginning and end with church notes, memoirs of past members, photographs of founding members, pastors, confirmation classes, and special events. 239 pages.
About the Author
Bryan Anderson was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. All his life, he has been enamored with old pictures and the stories of his grandparents, Gunder and Gudrun Anderson. From a young age he was intrigued with where his grandparents were from, what brought them to the United States, and the difficulties and successes they encountered during their lives. Realizing his grandparents' stories were hardly unique, he wanted to acknowledge the common story of all the members of Walks Camp Lutheran Church.
