The Winds of Time

There was some kind of poem engraved in the wood and as she leaned closer to read it, she held onto the mirror for balance. She started reading the poem out loud. "His call to me through space and time, to come and be his lady fine, a gentleman with two lives devine!" suddenly she felt an overpowering heat suffice her body, her image in the mirror started weaving in and out, the surface of the mirror began to ripple like water. Then a fine mist covered her body and she felt like she was about to faint. her head started to swim with a detached feeling, she had no time to react as she felt so dizzy. there was an unseen force pulling her into the mirror. there was nothing she could do to stop it! "What's happening?" She couldn't keep her eyes open. With heavy lids her eyes began to close and she drifted into oblivion. Jamie heard the sound of waves crashing against the shore. and the loud cry of seagulls overhead. She could feel something tickling her cheek, without opening her eyes she tried to flick whatever it was, away. Then she heard the giggle of a child and her cheeks were tickled again. "A child?" Her eyes flew open and landed on a grubby faced child who was holding a bird's feather in his small dirty hands.
