God’s Weapons of Mass Destruction

What is a Weapon of Mass Destruction? A Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD) is a weapon designed to kill large number of humans and cause great damage to man-made structures (e.g. buildings), natural structures (e.g. mountains) or the biosphere in general. The term covers several weapon types, including nuclear, biological, chemical (NBC) and, increasingly, radiological weapons. Additional terms used in a military context include atomic, biological, and chemical warfare (ABC warfare) and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear warfare (CBRN). This phrase was predominantly used in reference to nuclear weapons during the Cold War. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union and the increasing tensions between the Middle East and the Western powers, the term broadened to its modern, more inclusive definition. It entered widespread usage in relation to the U.S.-led 2003 invasion of Iraq. The U.S. military refers to WMD as: “Weapons that are capable of a high order of destruction and/or of being used in such a manner as to destroy large numbers of people. Weapons of mass destruction can be high explosives or nuclear, biological, chemical, and radiological weapons, but exclude the means of transporting or propelling the weapon where such means is a separable and divisible part of the weapon” “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” (2nd Corinthians 10:4, 5) As believers, we must know that we are in a battle: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:12, 13) This is not an attempt whatsoever to glorify or magnify the devil because he is already defeated by the blood of the lamb. He is a defeated foe. Jesus is exalted and highly lifted up above all heavens. Praise the Lord! In the light of the above, we cannot afford to be ignorant of what is going on in the spirit realm so we do not become spiritual casualties. The Spirit realm controls the physical. Spiritual warfare is a pro-active approach to our faith. We actively resist the devil when his hosts harass us. We actively pursue spiritual disciplines that will make us stronger and better prepared. There are many today who say there is no devil, no demon, and no warfare of any kind. Some even believe that everything that happens was meant to be, while I have personally heard over ninety percent (90%) of preachers say on Church pulpits, Television and Radio stations that everything that happens to us in life was God-ordained because God allowed it or God is in control of everything. My question is, what is He in control of? Nothing could be farther from the truth. If He controls everything that happens, what is the reward for obedience? Throughout the Bible, we see God say on several occasions, if you do this, I will do that. “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” - Isaiah 1:19 We must wake up to the rare truth that most of the tragedies in our homes, marriages, businesses, finances, ministries are either caused by these 2 factors; the devil or our ignorance. 1. The devil; “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8) “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10) 2. Our ignorance;
