Hello, my name is Happy.
Well, it is actually a pretend name according to my Pappy.
This is a story about my best friend Whisper, and she’s a girl
Sometimes little boys & girls play together, give it a whirl!
We met at school recess, enjoying our outside Happy Time.
She was only eight and I was at least a week over nine.
On most days we play tag, some kid’s jump rope.
This day was different; I met a girl who filled me with hope.

Happy the elephant looks forward to going to school everyday to play with his special friend Whisper the butterfly. When Happy finds out about a health problem Whisper has his story of love blossoms...Just how does a child deal with an illness of a friend? This story provides a compassionate answer to that question.
About the Author
After graduating Tarkio College and marrying my lovely Diana we ventured into life's maze. Not yet able to realize the power of imagination and focused thought we were able to experience poverty as measured by my current view. Settling in with the best company on earth in 1970; McDonald's Corporation provided escalating success opportunites which fueled my entreprenural urges. The fear of freedom from conventional employment started on March 14, 1986 when Riverside Chocolate Factory was born. Our new company which still propers to this day has given Diana & I a retirement that personifies all our dreams collected on our life path. This includes a beautiful lake house in Illinois, three Beach condos on a quiet & secluded beach on the Island of Cozumel and a lovely road house (bus) that provides the gift of visiting our children and grandchildren. Retirement came in 2006 and my writing career began in the fall of 2007. Hippie Bob & the Chocolate Factory is a self help book and eight children books are completed to date.
