Love Amid Chaos

Miami Airport was buzzing with an abundance of travelers, and airport staff, and chauffeurs, everywhere!  When one of them chauffeurs, stood quietly observing a woman who looked as if she could use extra arms to accomplish everything that she was trying to do with her hands too full.  First, the redhead was trying to get her white sweater to lie on her shoul-der, by swinging it toward her shoulder, but from the grip of her teeth.  The soft sweater cascade from her mouth in the likes of a waterfall that just wouldn’t cooperate with her the way that she thought it might.  When at last, she gave one last fast swing of her head and the sweater dove over her shoulder and fell to the ground below her.  Next, she’s standing there, looking down at the sweater, and at all of the different items in her hands and over her arms and at her shoulders, and is trying to figure out how she’s going to pick the clean sweater up without a hitch! 

                                The chauffeur then approached her, picked the sweater up, put it around her shoulders, joshed that she certainly doesn’t travel light, and asked her if he could be of help with anything more.  She told him, “Yes, thank you, I could use a black magic marker if you have one.  Mine ran dry between the first letter of my first name and the last letter of my last name.  See,” she tried to show him, wriggling to let go open the eggshell finish poster that she held as a rolled tube between delicate fingers. 

                “I can fix that for you,” said the chauffeur, taking the sturdy poster from her hand while going into the front pocket of his jacket and bringing forth a thick black marker.  “I do the same thing for my customers all the time,” he said.  He then moved the poster over to the nearest wall and traced the big letters that she had previously written there.  He came back saying, “Here you go, Karla Martin.  No one can miss this sign, any-here!” he smiled and waited as Karla quickly finishes re-organizing herself.  She had put away her cell phone, a book she’d been reading on the plane, her sunglasses and money that she’d been holding in her hand, and went and chucked a cup of Starbuck’s coffee brewed strong enough to give any young woman a heart attack!  And then came back.

                “You’re right, I don’t travel light!”  Karla giggled, reserving, but then again, it’s been years since I’ve traveled anywhere, so what do I know about these things anymore!  “There, I’m done.  Thank you.  Thank you so very much for all your help.”  Karla smiled grandly as she received and examined the poster.  The chauffeur told her it was his pleasure and casually walked away and disappeared into the crowd at the main entrance.

                                Karla stood there, and held the poster way up high and pulled her petite self up on her toes to see if she could see a poster anywhere that reads “CHEYANNE ROBINSON”.  Before long, too many strange men were reading Karla’s and smiling brazenly at her, and the whole idea of displaying her real name in big bold letters to the world at the airport concerned and embarrassed her.  She was too shy for this sort of thing anyway, so she rolled it back up and just
