Pastor's Wives and Minister’s wives have a lot on their plates, but
one thing is for sure; she must know her position in Christ, her position in
marriage, her position in the church and her position in the larger Body of
Christ. Alignment is very important not
only for her to be effective, but for those that are clinging and drawing from
her.
“Satan
hates women, single or married; motherhood and ministry. Satanic interference makes balancing even
more frustrating. In faith and sometimes
in fatigue, we try to balance home and church, marriage and motherhood, singleness
and ministry, the workplace and all the unspoken expectations of the church. But
I am convinced that there is a special
grace and wisdom upon women of God to
balance all these dimensions and not have a nervous breakdown.” 8
Jesus Christ our Lord had
perfect balance. He is our example. I see Him hanging on the cross, nailed to the cross. He hung there because
“balance needed to be restored between God the Father and mankind. The cross
was the “balance beam” God used to bring us salvation. The cross is vertical and horizontal. Christ had his vertical relationship with God
in tact. He died so that the horizontal
relationship with mankind would be restored.
We see balance in the Lord’s life with His priority on His relationship
with the Father and human beings. Balance is always vertical and horizontal. When
we get out of touch vertically with God and struggle in our relationships
horizontally, we are definitely getting out of balance. If we can keep the
greatest commandment, we will be in balance with God and our neighbor.
We must also address this “silent warfare” called domestic violence, in the parsonage,
in the pulpit and in the pews. Just like we teach
discipleship classes to new believers, we need to teach Domestic Violence 101
to both men and women, youth and children.
That is one way to expose it and make the perpetrators accountable. We must give sound biblical teaching on God’s
view of domestic violence.
Marriage, motherhood, and ministry is not for
cowards. You had better get ready for
the struggle, but also the victory! It’s
not a new struggle for women, just because you answered your calling. No, we
have been in this struggle since the Garden of Eden.
Hurt Ladies of the Lord will know that their healing has begun to
spring forth when they are able to bless those that have wounded
come. There are seven ways to be a blessing to
others. It
is important before we end our journey together in this book that we understand
the power of blessing others is greater than the power to curse.
At the end of the day, the real test of
our effectiveness in marriage, parenthood and ministry is not a big building
left behind with our name on it. It will
be the legacy we leave behind in the lives that we have touched and those lives
that were transformed into the image of Christ.
Satan
wants our focus to be on “all the hell we went through” and not the fact that
we were raising up warriors and faithful priests that would not give up or give in when the gates of hell
tried to prevail in their generation.
We cannot stay hurt or wounded for too
long, or we will be consumed and forget about our legacy. So we must arise and keep raising up strong righteous
seeds and true spiritual sons and daughters to carry the legacy of truth of the
of Gospel of Jesus Christ."

Bishop Dr. Jackie L. Green is an apostle set in the Body of Christ
to bring reformation, revelation and reconciliation. She is married to Pastor
Anthony Green, where they have pastored the Second Baptist Church of Redlands,
California for over 20 years, and been married for 35 years, with four young adult
