This is a delightfully quixotic book about all the places a playful cat can be found while hiding from a little girl named Claire who is looking for a kitty-cat for her birthday.

Inspired by Claire's immediate and relentless search for a promised cat, every time she entered her grandmother's house, this book's poetic text and elegant illustrations help all of us see just how unusual some of those places a cat might choose to be.

This is a wonderful book for a parent to read to a child, and then, for a child to read back to a parent.

About the Author

Anne Keegan makes her second appearance in authorHouse with this book, which is quite different from her first book, “On the Street Doing Life,” a look at the West Side of Chicago through the eyes of a cop called “Cronie” – a legendary Chicago Gang Crimes and Narcotics police officer. Follow her progress as she moves from a celebrated Chicago cop to a chimerical Chicago cat.

Ms. Keegan got her first kitty, “Ticky-Tac,” when she was 7 years old, and that cat lived with her family in Rockford, Illinois for the next 27 years. This story was written for her grand-daughter, Claire, who lives in Bangkok, Thailand, with her parents and little brother, Tommy.

Ms. Keegan and Mike Hirsley, the illustrator, are long-time friends and worked together for several decades at the Chicago Tribune. This is their first collaboration on a book.
